Topalov, Kaminsky in Duel

Summary

Former world champion Veselin Topalov of Bulgaria has jumped out to a 3-2 lead in his eight-game match with U.S. star GM Gata Kamsky in Sofia, Bulgaria. In a seesaw struggle, Topalov reclaimed the lead with a win in Monday's Game 5, at a moment when the momentum seemed to be swinging back to the American.

After losing badly in Game 2 of the eight-game contest, Kamsky had bounced back with a nicely controlled performance in Game 4 to even the score. The winner of the match is slated to take on reigning world champion Viswanathan Anand of India for the title sometime later this year.
