From the good ideas department: On my Web site (www.rosemond.com), I recently fielded a question from a mom whose 3- year-old was falling into the habit of asking for food when he was bored or upset about something.
She knew, she said, that he wasn't truly hungry, but if she refused him, he fell apart. She didn't know what to do. I pointed out the obvious: Mom needed to make sure food did not become a security blanket or a means of control for her son. If that meant he fell apart, so be it.
