Summary
In the letter "Soldier on" by Cynthia W. Morse on Saturday, she claimed that women in combat is a nonissue and that homosexuality within the armed forces is not new, so Elaine Donnelly's longtime quest for military readiness is astounding ("Gays and the military," Op-Ed, Jan. 2-3).
As a disabled combat veteran, I do not believe that sex belongs in combat or in the armed forces when its members are trying to achieve optimum military readiness and performance. One day we may actually have to fight against professional military units with modern weapons who will not give us the luxury of engineering sex into our formations at the expense of military readiness.See the full content of this document
