Burned by the pain of major knee surgery and the anguish of a benching, Carlos Rogers emerged this offseason a better cornerback and a better man.

"I won't put it as a turnaround, I put it as 'catch it,' " said the Washington Redskins cornerback, who's been better known for dropped interceptions than any play he's made. "As simple as that. As last season went, I think I progressed, got better and better and learned more. The next step is, instead of shutting receivers down, I've got to turn into a bigger playmaker."
