Summary

Tony La Russa - On Sunday, the manager of the St. Louis Cardinals reached the 2,500-win mark when his team defeated Kansas City 12-5. La Russa became only the third manager in major league history to reach the milestone, joining the illustrious company of Connie Mack (3,731) and John McGraw (2,763). La Russa accomplished the task in just 31 seasons - faster than Mack and McGraw.

Casey Stengel - Best known for managing the New York Yankees for 12 seasons, Stengel won 37 World Series games with the team, the most all time. Stengel is the only manager to guide a team to five straight World Series victories. Winning on the big stage is a good indication of a manager's aptitude in leading his team when it matters most.
