Summary
At the end of "The Golden Compass," a new fantasy film based on the first book of a popular trilogy by Philip Pullman, main character Lyra Belacqua rattles off a lengthy to-do list that includes saving her uncle (played by Daniel Craig). As she does so, the music swells, and viewers are left hoping that the next two films will get made so they can discover just what that mysterious "dust" is. In franchise-friendly Hollywood, that kind of obvious setup has become so common it has a name - sequel bait.
