Summary
The misguided letter by Glenn Hutchinson ("Unreliable sources," Letters, Thursday) condemning the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), which is listed as a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), is standard malarkey for organizations at the end of their useful lives.
The SPLC, which was a proud and accomplished organization during the civil rights movement, has fallen on hard times. No longer able to generate donations under the banner of civil rights, the SPLC has taken up the cause of illegal Hispanic immigrants. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), another group living on the fumes of past success, also has hitched its wagon to this cause.See the full content of this document
