Concerning former Democratic Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner: Do you remember our Virginia history? Think back to former Republican Gov. James S. Gilmore III's administration. He had a near-balanced budget, reduced the percentage rate for income-tax withholdings and was one of our most popular and successful conservative governors. He cut spending and the financial burdens on Virginians and managed to keep the commonwealth safe and financially secure, functioning just fine while fostering economic growth. Mr. Gilmore was a true Virginian from a middle-class family and followed in the footsteps of Virginia's long list of conservative governors and statesman, many of whom later became U.S. presidents. Let us also not forget how his administration also established for Virginians the "rainy day fund,", all while reducing taxes.
Then the very wealthy Mr. Warner rolled into town. He quickly spent his way into the office of governor. What exactly did Mr. Warner do for Virginia's residents?
