Summary
The flourescent light bulb mandate is a liberal politician's dream. This legislation is of a type that Congress now loves to pass because it means legislators get to tell taxpayers what to do, take their money to pay for various measures and then crow about how green they are.
Then, of course, the law of unintended consequences roars in. Lighting manufacturers are now sizing their fixtures so that they can only accept flourescent bulbs.
