It's incomprehensible that Sen. John McCain and all the pundits are treating the crucial importance of our denying the radical Islamists and their Iranian backers control of Iraq's huge oil wealth as if it were the third rail of American politics.
There is no more compelling argument for U.S. troops staying in Iraq and preventing a radical Islamic takeover than keeping hundreds of billions of dollars in potential Iraqi oil revenues out of radical Islamic hands. Imagine how such added revenues would vastly multiply the Islamists' ability to expand and strengthen their terrorist networks in Lebanon, Gaza, Afghanistan and elsewhere.
