Religious-watchdog groups say a Senate Finance Committee inquiry into the possible misuse of donations by six large Christian ministries is warranted and based on credible evidence.

"It's not a fishing expedition," said Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans United for Separation of Church and State. "So far I don't think he's gone too far on crossing too many lines."
