Summary


Teachers who stress real world reasoning are using basics to understanding the environment in which we live, as the article "Math gains add up" (Life/Schools, Monday) points out. It's just common sense.

So why don't school systems teach the International System of Units (SI), which is the international standard metric system. It is a coherent system where each unit is linked to other units in a meaning full way.
