Ten years ago this month, D.C. United won its second MLS Cup, defeating the Colorado Rapids 2-1 on Oct. 26. United's second straight league championship was won in the middle of a cold downpour, but that didn't deter the 57,431 fans who filled every seat in RFK Stadium.

The final topped off a big day of sports in the area that day. Before the soccer game, the Redskins lost to the Ravens before 75,067 at what is now called FedEx Field and 18,000 runners competed in the Marine Corps Marathon.
