When Linda Brown-Myrick began taking classes at the Academy of Hope in Northwest in January 1985 she was one of only four students.

At the time, she had three young children so she had to balance her time between taking them to day care while attending classes three days a week. She almost quit. But thanks to the academy she stuck with it.
